Radio playout that gets out of the presenter's way.
Packet Studio is radio playout and live assist by Packet Nomad. A central library with automatic markers, chained players with SEQ, the way presenters expect, carts, button walls, automation, and a studio desk that lights up in step with what is on air.
Built for stations that run on people, not budgets
Community radio
Volunteer presenters need something that makes sense in ten minutes and does not fall over.
Commercial radio
Scheduling, as-played reporting and unattended automation with a real live handover.
Student radio
A free-standing app for training and roadshows: install, plug in, play.
Everything between the library and the transmitter
Markers found for you
Import a folder and Packet Studio finds cue in, intro, segue and cue out for every song. Review and correct them in a waveform editor where you select, then set; your corrections are never overwritten.
Chained players
Three chained players with SEQ, auto-load, per-player queues and carts. Songs run into each other at the segue, sample-accurately.
Several sound cards
Route players, carts and monitors to different interfaces. Each card has its own drift correction, and a missing card never stops playout.
Automation, then GO LIVE
Clocks, week grid and rules generate the log. Run unattended into your streaming server, and take over live with a handover.
Now playing everywhere
Titles go to your streams, DAB DLS and RDS RadioText from the same source as the player.
As-played you can trust
Only plays that were actually heard on air count. Anything heard only in headphones, muted or previewed is left out of the report.
Your studio desk is part of the system
We are starting with one widely used USB MIDI broadcast desk, tested on a real unit, and more are coming.
- Start and stop players from the faders.
- Pads for carts, Play and Stop, with colours that follow Packet Studio.
- Mute and PFL stay in sync, both ways.
- The Play pad warns you before a song's segue.
- MIC LIVE shows when a mic is really open.
The Play pad flashes faster as a song nears its segue.
